Fifty-seven (57) referees drawn from the Northern and Southern zones have completed the mandatory fitness test at Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence (GSCE), Prampram, in readiness for the 2024/25 Malta Guinness Women Premier League.

The referees made up of twenty-seven Center Referees and thirty assistants went through weekly video tests, periodic written test on the laws of the game (LOTG) as directed by FIFA and the GFA.

The training program was led by GFA Referee’s manager Alex Kotey with support from Referee Instructors, Louisa Amanor and Delight Alobu.

Speaking to GFA Communications, referee instructor Louisa Amanor is confident the ladies are ready for the up-coming season.

“We took them through the amendments, posture and reading, tactical fouls and managing off-sides. They have done a written test and other tests to show they will practice what we have taught them. So far, all the lessons that FIFA expects us to lecture have been covered and from our assessment, all of them are fit for the work ahead,” she disclosed.

The 2024/25 Malta Guinness Women Premier League is set to officially kick-off on the weekend of Friday October 18 to Monday October 21, 2024 across the Northern and Southern Zone.
