(ANS – St. Julians) – The 14th Annual Meeting of Salesian “Project Managers” will be held in St. Julians, Malta from 16 to 18 October 2024. It will be organised by Don Bosco Tech Europe APS in collaboration with Check-In Malta.

The event, which will be hosted at the Cavalieri Art Hotel, will be attended by numerous European representatives engaged in the field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (VET).

With the theme “Future VET: A sea of opportunities”, the meeting will focus on the challenges and prospects that digitalisation and innovation are bringing to the vast world of vocational training.

During the first day, the projects currently underway in Europe will be presented, with interventions by distinguished guests, including the Minister of Tourism of Malta, Hon. Clayton Bartolo, and representatives of the European VET authorities.

In the following days there will be workshops, discussions and debates on micro-credentials, high-tech solutions for Vocational Training Centres and strategies to improve job opportunities, involving experts from different countries, not only from Europe, Belgium and France, but also from Africa, such as Kenya, one of the countries, that is, with which collaboration networks have been most implemented.

The programme will end with a strategic planning session and the definition of the next steps for the development of European projects, consolidating the central role of DB Tech Europe APS in the promotion of Salesian vocational training in Europe and in the world.

The meeting in Malta is configured as the 14th meeting of the so-called “Salesian Europrojects”, a group of experts in the planning and management of collaborative projects in the field of education and Vocational Training. There are three purposes of this network which began in 2013. The first is to develop and consolidate the Salesian network, in order to increase the capacity to cooperate as partners at the local, national and transnational levels, making known the opportunities in the field of education and training in Europe. Secondly, to offer methodologies and tools for the optimal management of collaborative European projects on common themes, such as active citizenship, social inclusion and promotion of the values of democracy and solidarity. Finally, encourage workshops to learn the basics of European design and try their hand at writing projects in response to European funding calls.
