Marsaxlokk are in talks to sign Brazilian winger Alex Alves, the Times of Malta can confirm.
The Southerners have been working hard during the past few weeks to try and strengthen their squad in a bid to make up from the disappointment in the Opening Round to miss out on a place in the Top 6.
Marsaxlokk have already announced that they signed veteran Italian goalkeeper Federico Marchetti and now they have set their sights on bringing to the club Brazilian winger Alex Alves, aka Lecao.
The Brazilian started the season with Gżira United but now it looks that his experience with the Maroons is coming to a close as he is currently in talks with Marsaxlokk to continue his career with the Southerners.
Should the transfer go through, Alves will become the second player to leave Gżira United and move to a rival club.
In fact, on Tuesday, the Times of Malta confirmed that veteran defender Jurgen Pisani had left Gżira United to join Żabbar St Patrick on a loan deal until the end of the season.
