Superstruct Entertainment, the world’s largest festival promoter after Live Nation, has just received more funding.
CVC, a global private equity and investment advisory firm, revealed this week that it injected an undisclosed amount into Superstruct.
UK-based Superstruct, which owns 80 festival brands, is run by former Live Nation president James Barton and owned by KKR, another global investment firm. KKR bought Superstruct earlier this year for €1.3 billion from Providence Equity Partners.
With the addition of CVC’s capital, Superstruct now has a bigger war chest to spend on growth and development, which could mean bigger budgets for the festivals it operates. These include DGTL, Brunch Electronik, Field Day, Sónar Barcelona, OFFSónar, Flow Festival, Lost Village and many more.
The investment marks CVC’s first foray into the music sector. Its portfolio includes global sports teams, the clothing brand A Bathing Ape and other consumer brands.
