KATHMANDU, Dec 2: The police have arrested three individuals in separate incidents related to fraudulent promises of foreign employment. A man and two women are facing charges for deceiving people with assurances of overseas job opportunities in Serbia, Malta, and Croatia.
Dipesh Baskota, a 25-year-old resident of Bara Jitpur Simara-1, has been arrested on charges of defrauding people of Rs 1.72 million by falsely claiming he would facilitate their employment in Serbia. Allegedly, Baskota enticed three people with promises of overseas employment, specifically in Serbia, and repeatedly cheated them by falsely asserting that he could secure packing jobs with a monthly salary of Rs 100,000 in a reputable company. Authorities from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office in Minbhawan arrested him last Thursday in Jeetpur Simara-1.

Likewise, 29-year-old Lakshmi Shrestha from Tripura Sundari-1 in Dhading, currently residing in Bafal, Kathmandu, was arrested on Friday on charges of defrauding people of Rs 608,000. Shrestha is accused of misleading two people by assuring them employment in Malta, claiming they would work in a prestigious hotel with a monthly salary of Rs 100,000.
Additionally, police arrested 46-year-old Bhawani Bohara from Sindhupalchowk, Tripura Sundari-6, residing in Lalitpur Mahalakshmi-9 Lubhu, on charges of defrauding people of Rs 200,000 by falsely promising employment in Croatia on Friday. Bohara allegedly deceived two people by promising them jobs in Croatia at a reputed company with a monthly salary of Rs 120,000. The police, deployed from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, arrested her in Lubhu, Lalitpur.
All three individuals have been handed over to the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal for further investigation and necessary legal action.
