Ħamrun Spartans’ transfer activity is set to continue to intensify in the coming days as the Malta champions are set to complete the signing of Niger international winger Kairou Amoustapha.
The Spartans have been very active in the past fortnight in strengthening their squad. They have already completed the signing of Montenegrin midfielder Jovan Cadjenovic and are expected to compete to bring in Senegalese defender Bacary Sane.
The Times of Malta can confirm that the Reds are in the final stages of completing the registration of winger Kairou Amoustapha.
The 23-year-old forward moves to the Spartans from CSKA 1948 II who play in the Bulgarian second division. Amoustapha is a Niger international as he represented his country seven times.
Amoustapha is seen as an exciting signing for the Spartans. His speed and eye for goal could add a new dimension to the Maltese club’s forward line.
The lateral forward started his career in his homeland with ASN Nigelec before joining Czech Republic side MFK Vyskov.
In 2020, he moved to American second-division side Loudon United on a season-long deal.
In 2021, Amoustapha moved to Mexico where he spent three seasons with Cancun FC.
Last summer, he decided to return to Europe and signed for CSKA 1948.
Amoustapha is now hopeful of leaving his mark with the Spartans who are keen to retain the Premier League title for a third successive season.
